Churchill Athletics This Week

Monday December 18

Grade 9 Griffins and Bulldogs play Kate Andrews out in Coaldale. The Griffins game starts at 4pm and the Bulldogs at 5:15pm.

Monday Clubs

Human Rights Club

Joel – Room 64 Students from all grade levels are encourage to join. The focus is diverse and driven by what human rights issues the students feel are most important to them as a group. Letter writing campaigns to government officials regarding humanitarian atrocities, school activities and functions that bring a greater school awareness to the social and economic inequalities are a major emphasis of the group.

Harry Potter Club

Elise – Room 8 Our club is all things Harry Potter. We will read the books, watch the movies, make wands and discuss fan theories.

Pollution Patrol

Jon – Art Room PP strategizes ways to combat the influx of litter and garbage at Churchill and our surrounding community. We will work to prevent further contamination of the environment.

Fitness Centre


Winter Concert

The Winter Concert is Monday December 18th at 7pm at Southminster Church.

Career Centre

All students registered in Work Experience and/or the RAP Programs please hand in your hours/pay stubs to the CAREER CENTRE before January 12th, 2018.

EPIC (Exploring Possible Industries and Careers) is back! Choose between four career sectors (Agriculture, Health, STEM, Trades) for a full day of hands-on career activities on Wednesday February 7th, 2018. Please see Lettie BEFORE Christmas break to sign up as space is seriously limited and restricted to our grade 11 and 12 students only. UPDATE: The Healthcare career sector is now full, but there is space in Agriculture, Trades and STEM!

Interested in community leadership? Rotary International is seeking students for incredible programming: 1 student for Adventures in Citizenship - Ottawa - April 29-May 2, 2018 AND 2 students for RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) - Chestermere - May 10 - 13, 2018. See Lettie to explore these opportunities. Deadline to apply is early January 2018.
