So many scholarships! So little time! Please book an appointment with Lettie to learn more, or check out the list of popular scholarships for high school students on our school website as well as some new ones highlighted below!

Grade 11 students:

Even if you aren't sure where you are heading for university, you should submit an application for the University of Lethbridge's $800 Grade 11 Award of Merit. It takes about 2 minutes to complete the online form and must apply before June 30 of your grade 11 year.

Grade 12 students:

There is a $1000 scholarship available for South Country Co-op Ltd. members! If your family purchases more than $3500.00 in the current year, you could be eligible to apply for this one. See Lettie for the application form. Deadline is May 31, 2018.

The Canadian Association for the Practical Study of Law in Education (CAPSLE) has a $1000 bursary to give to a student accepted to a Faculty of Educaton or Faculty of Law in the 2018/2019 academic year. Priority will be given to applicants who identify as a member of a group that is under-represented in Education and/or Law. The deadline is May 31, 2018.

The Alexander Rutherford Scholarship is an amazing source of funds for grade 12 students wishing to continue their education in the trades, college or at university. You can receive up to $2500.00 if your average in 5 classes (you can even include your marks from options and work experience!) during grades 10, 11 and 12 is over 80%.

Off Campus Education

JUNE 15 is the LAST DAY to submit your work/volunteer hours if you are currently in Grade 12! Do you have a secured job or volunteer commitment for the summer? Please let us know before the end of June and you will be able to count all of your summer hours for next year's work experience credits!

Career Centre

NEXT THURSDAY MAY 31ST Winston Churchill is hosting a HUGE "Churchill Returns" Career Fair! This interactive fair will feature 30 former Churchill students returning to our school to share their educational and career paths since leaving Churchill. The fair will run from 9:00 - 2:38 and will close during our lunch break so that we can provide lunch for our exhibitors! Please see Lettie for more information. All students and parents are welcome to join in the fun.

Rotary has another GREAT opportunity for youth camp (free!) August 12 - 18, 2018. Youth aged 13-15 who have an interest in business are invited to apply for the Alberta youth Entreprenurship Camp (AYEC). Applicants will compete by answering essay questions on the online application, which will allow them to attend the camp for FREE, thanks to the generous support of community sponsors, Community Futures offices and Rotary District 5360. Sixty youth from South and Central Alberta will attend the camp running August 12th to the 18th, held at Eagles Nest Ranch in Cypress Hills, Alberta. See Lettie for assistance in applying. Deadline: May 31, 2018.

Are you a grade 10 student interested in a health care career? There is an interactive, educational and unique summer camp from August 7-10, 2018 in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat that will provide students with the opportunity to explore a wide variety of health sciences programs and careers. The cost is $200.00 but funding is available for students who need it. Register by July 20, 2018.

Looking for a summer job? The job board outside Lettie's office is packed full! If you are interested in agricultural labour positions, it's not too late to apply. See Lettie for an application form NOW.
